Mindful Miles

A Journey to Better Mental Health

Mindful Miles – Walking for Wellbeing

Mindful Miles is a supportive walking group created to offer men a safe space - a sanctuary - to step away from daily pressures and reconnect with nature, movement, and themselves. Our purpose is simple: to help men improve their mental health and overall wellbeing through the simple, grounding act of walking together.

Founded and led by Ed Pavoux, an experienced walking leader who has personally faced and overcome his own struggles with mental health, Mindful Miles was born from lived experience. During some of his most challenging times, Ed found that being outdoors - walking through woodlands, hills, and open spaces - provided clarity, calm, and connection. Over time, his love of walking and leading groups became a cornerstone in his recovery and growth.

The group’s adopted motto, “Endeavour Through Adversity,” is taken directly from Ed’s personal philosophy - a belief that no matter how difficult the path, progress comes through steady steps, resilience, and purpose.

We understand that not everyone wants to talk - and that’s absolutely fine. There’s no expectation to share or open up unless you want to. Some members come for conversation, others for quiet reflection; all are welcome. Our walks are relaxed, inclusive, and pressure-free, focusing on movement, fresh air, and companionship rather than performance or pace.

Mindful Miles meets regularly for local and regional walks, each one designed to encourage presence, mindfulness, and gradual self-improvement. Whether you’re looking to clear your head, meet like-minded men, or simply take a break from life’s noise, you’ll find a place here among others who understand - without judgement or expectation.

At Mindful Miles, every step is a step forward - towards better mental health, shared strength, and a calmer mind.

Please note: Mindful Miles is not a mental health service or therapy provider. We do not offer professional mental health support or treatment. Our walks are simply a space for men to connect, reflect, and, if they choose, share experiences in a supportive and informal environment.

Upcoming Events

March Fundraiser

This year, to raise both money and awareness for Epilepsy Action, I will be completing an extended version of the Surrey 3 Peaks Challange. The usual 3 peaks route is 23 miles long, but I will be extending this out to 26.2 miles.

Please help me raise some much needed funding and awareness for this brilliant charity. Link to the Just Giving page is blow.
